It is possible for some guests to feel a little out of place and awkward not knowing everyone who attends. Let’s face it there could be 100 to 200 guests. They don’t all know each other. Let’s plan ahead!!

There are some things that the wedding planner or you yourself can do to help guests feel more comfortable!

  • Seating Plan – This will help eliminate the lost factor and guests wondering around looking for people they know! If you have an LED Dance Floor or area for dancing, it’s great to have the tables to surround the area.
  • Gaps in the day – Try to make sure there is a schedule for the day (things happen and plans don’t always go right) but there is a guide to go by. For example, while photos are being taken of the bridal party, there may be a welcome drink and some soft music playing at the hotel/reception area for guests to enjoy and relax while waiting. (Cocktail hour can be a perfect starter), maybe a Photobooth, Selfie Mirror, something fun to add!
  • Conversation – A little tool we have come across that some receptions have are conversation starter napkins. (It can be a fun way for some guests to relax into the day). This is a sure way to get your guests talking!
  • Photobooth/Selfie Mirror – As mentioned earlier, Photobooths & Selfie Mirrors are always a hit, they will always spark conversations and are a fun activity to do, also something they can take home on the day!
  • Choosing the right tables – Seems like an odd detail to think of, but the arrangement of the tables will help guests to converse and mix. Round tables would be our choice as it allows all the guests to talk and see each other easily. (Using a rectangular table can limit the guests to speak to everyone).
